Women’s Health Services—Osteoporosis Screening
Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to lose mass
and break easily. Women who have experienced menopause are at a higher
risk for bone mass loss because their bodies produce less estrogen, which
helps keep calcium in the bones and maintains bone mass. Osteoporosis can
be detected through the measurement of bone mass. Your physician can refer
you for this test.
