- Osteoporosis.
All treatment programs are individualized and developed
in cooperation with the patient’s physician. A physician’s
referral is required.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapists specializing in treating obstetric
patients are available to help you enjoy a safe and comfortable childbearing
experience right from the beginning.
As your pregnancy progresses, we modify exercise
and treatment programs as needed. Prior to your delivery, we can
consult with you and your partner about pain management options including
relaxation techniques, labor positions and even the use of a TENS
unit—an electrical device that helps block the pain sensations of
labor without harming the baby or interfering with the birth process.
After your delivery, our physical therapists are available to help you
with an exercise program to restore your strength and posture.
Continence Control
Individualized physical therapy evaluation and treatment
of urinary incontinence utilizes muscle re-education and strengthening,
biofeedback and behavioral treatment. Techniques are modified for
the male population.
Pelvic Pain
Treatment of pelvic pain conditions via manual
therapeutic techniques, biofeedback and relaxation.
Post-Surgical Breast
Cancer Recovery
Treatment is provided to patients following mastectomy,
axillary node dissection, sentinel node dissection and breast reconstruction.
Patients are instructed in ADL techniques, home exercise program
for restricted range of motion and scar management. Outpatients who
suffer from lymphedema will participate in a nine-step program designed
to decrease their swelling and teach them to manage their condition
themselves.
Osteoporosis
The therapist provides evaluation of posture,
strength, range of motion and exercise tolerance. Treatment may include
manual soft tissue techniques and exercise to prevent further postural
decline and improve posture, individualized recommendations for ADL completion,
instruction in use of proper body mechanics to prevent injury, and
an individualized exercise program to assist in preventing further
loss of bone mass.
All treatment is administered by licensed physical and occupational therapists.
Therapists are skilled in biofeedback, OB/GYN physical therapy, and manual
lymph drainage in addition to general therapeutic techniques.
Patients are expected to be responsible for:
- Providing information about past illnesses, hospitalizations
and medications.
- Matters related to health status as completely
and accurately as possible.
