64-SLICE CT

Our CT scanner provides the most detailed images available of any structure in the human body in a little as a 10-second breath hold or less. The 64-Slice CT Scanner at Saint Agnes provides faster, more precise images than the commonly used 4-slice machine.

Because of the speed at which the image is taken—approximately 3,000 image slices in 10 seconds—images have less motion blur and are clearer. This allows for greater image detail and the ability to see very small structures that were not visible before. This also provides a particular advantage when treating children, who otherwise must be sedated in order to undergo a CT scan.
