Community Outreach and Education Programs
At Saint Agnes we not only care for you—we teach you how to care for yourself. Our family of outreach and education programs, collectively called the Healthy Heart Program, covers a range of topics related to the prevention of heart disease as well as general wellness techniques.
Heart Wellness Screening Services
Reaching out to the surrounding community, our Heart Wellness Program offers free screening services and speakers at such convenient locations as area churches, businesses and community associations. Screening services include cholesterol and blood pressure checks, nutrition education and physician referral.
Early Heart-Attack Care
The goal of the Early Cardiac Outreach Program is a vital one to educate the community to the fact that occasional, central chest pain can signal the start of a major heart attack. The program teaches recognition of common symptoms and when to seek immediate treatment, building awareness where it can do the most good.
Cardiac Access
This comprehensive community service initiative marks a new step in aiding Baltimore’s medically underserved and indigent. Focusing on the West Baltimore area, the program seeks to give this population better access to cardiac services by eliminating financial and educational barriers.
