Medical Oncology
Oncologists at St. Agnes Cancer Center deliver
a wide range of clinical treatments in the medical management of cancer.
Various tumor types and sites treated effectively at St. Agnes include,
but are not limited to, the following: colorectal, bronchus and lung,
bladder, prostate, ovarian, breast, uterine, and cervical, as well as
non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,
melanoma, thyroid, and endocrine cancers.
Cancer Center oncologists utilize a systemic approach of chemotherapy
or hormone therapy prepared at our on-site pharmacy. This team of highly
trained oncologists creates treatment plans to ensure each patient receives
the right regimen for a specific period of time for optimal results, while
minimizing side effects and adverse reactions.
Our dedication to quality
of life leads to a firm commitment to palliative care, meeting the
needs of patients in all stages of cancer. Through the use of analgesics,
anti-emetics, steroids, and palliative radiation therapy or surgery, multiple
disciplines convene to provide optimal and compassionate supportive care.
