Application Requirements

NO PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. ALL APPLICATIONS TO THE INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM AT ST. AGNES HOSPITAL WILL BE THROUGH ERAS, THE ELECTRONIC RESIDENCY APPLICATION SERVICE.

A COMPLETED APPLICATION TO OUR PROGRAM WILL CONSIST OF:

  1. ERAS Common Application Form.
  2. Curriculum Vitae.
  3. Medical school transcript.
  4. Dean’s letter.
  5. Three letters of recommendation—At least one must be from an internal medicine primary care or medical subspecialist preceptor.
  6. Personal statement.
  7. USMLE Part 1 and 2 transcript.
  8. ECFMG status report.

CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION TO OUR PROGRAM:

  1. USMLE Part 1– Minimum score of 225.
  2. USMLE Part 2– Minimum score of 220.
  3. 6 months US Clinical experience preferred.
  4. Graduation date after 1997.
  5. ECFMG certified by interview date.
  6. H-1B1 applicants: must have taken Step 3 exam by December 1, 2007 and have results available by January 15, 2008.

Deadline for receipt of all application materials: Dec. 1, 2007.

GRADUATES OF INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL SCHOOLS

To be eligible to participate in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Agnes Hospital, you must possess a current, valid ECFMG (the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certificate.

IMG’s with a graduation date before 2008 must submit USMLE Parts 1 and 2 and a passing CSA before being eligible for an interview.

International medical school students who anticipate graduating in the spring of 2008 will be required to submit verification of a passing score in USMLE Part 1 before an interview will be granted. USMLE Part 2 and CSA exam results must be available before Jan. 31, 2008 to be eligible for our NRMP rank list.

VISAS FOR GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION OR TRAINING

  1. Permanent resident.
  2. Employment Authorization from the USCIS.
  3. F-1 Student Optional Practical Training (can be used for preliminary track only).
  4. Exchange Visitor J-1.
  5. H-1B1.
