Saint Agnes Hospital has announced that J. William Cook, M.D., has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Seton Medical Group. Seton Medical Group is a division of Saint Agnes Healthcare with physicians specializing in family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics throughout the Baltimore community.

Previously, Dr. Cook represented internal medicine doctors on the board. Dr. Cook will begin his three-year term on December 1, 2010.

“It is an honor to be both nominated and elected to the chairman position,” said Dr. Cook. “As a member of the board, I know this position has a great deal of responsibility and I am both pleased and humbled to know my colleagues have confidence in my abilities.”

Dr. Cook received his medical degree from the University of Maryland Medical School and has been with Saint Agnes as a senior attending physician since 1993. He currently serves as a member of the Saint Agnes Healthcare Board’s Finance Committee. Dr. Cook, 47, is a life-long resident of Catonsville. He is married to Elizabeth with whom he has three children.
