The Bunting Health Institute for Women & Children at Saint Agnes Hospital encompasses our Ob/Gyn services as well as our pediatric services. For years the physicians who practice in these services have been raising the bar for the level of care we provide. Our maternity and Ob/Gyn services have been recognized for their patient safety commitments. Our Ob/Gyn physicians work closely with Ob/Gyn offices in the community to insure that the birthing experience at Saint Agnes Hospital is safe and comfortable for both mother and child.
Our recently renovated NICU is a level III unit with some private pods. Our Pediatrics Department includes an inpatient ward dedicated solely to the care of our youngest patients, as well as and emergency room designated solely for patients 17 and younger. The Bunting Health Institute for Women & Children has a proven record of patient safety and exceptional care, and our teams are continuously finding new ways to take better care of our patients.

Meet Our Team
Leaders in Minimally Invasive OB/GYN Surgery
Saint Agnes Hospital has been named a Center of Excellence in Women’s Health by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (AIMIS). Saint Agnes is the first hospital in Maryland to receive this distinction. Saint Agnes’ Department of OB/GYN is a leader in minimally invasive hysterectomy procedures utilizing both laparoscopic techniques and one of the few hospitals utilizing the da Vinci surgical system for hysterectomies and gynecological oncology surgeries. Minimally invasive surgery, whether laparoscopic or robotically assisted, is advancing health care for women by providing doctors new tools to accomplish the same goals as they would with traditional open surgery. Patients who experience minimally invasive procedures suffer less pain and blood loss, with fewer complications and a faster recovery time.
OB Rapid Response Team
Our innovative teams of OB specialists have developed the award winning OB Rapid Response Team, or OBRRT. In the event of an emergency with a pregnancy or a newborn, this multidisciplinary team responds immediately to any location in the hospital. The team includes an obstetrician, anesthesiologist, respiratory therapists, neonatal intensive care personnel, and other experts to care for you and your baby.
New Expanded NICU
The Women’s & Children’s Health Institute recently completed renovations to our level 3B designated Perinatal Center, and now provides 18 private beds, including six specifically designated for more critical babies. The facility is equipped to care for infants of all gestational ages and birth weights.
