Esophyx is an innovative, incisionless procedure utilized to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or what is commonly referred to as heartburn or acid reflux. Dr. Andrew Averbach, director of bariatric and minimally invasive surgery, has introduced this procedure at Saint Agnes, the only hospital in Maryland to offer this procedure, and one of less than 10 in the country.
